If I were to start over...
1. The things I would do:
- The first thing I would do would probably be collect until I have enough resources to actually do something(as you really have no other choice).
- I definitely wouldn't wait as long as I did my first try to build anything, I almost starved and had to sprint to build stuff and hope. So my next step would be to build both a water purifier and a grill.
- I would definitely try and gather food to cook, and if I can make a cup and fishing rod so I'm able to actually collect and have a somewhat steady source of food, at least for a while.
- I wouldn't be as scared to go in the water. There are so many things that are crazily essential to building most of the useful things.
- My next step would to be to build a sail. I waited so long to build one my first time. I just built it last week so, sail's are definitely useful, in getting to islands, or just quickly gathering resources.
- COLLECTOR NETS. Those things are life savers. They speed up your collecting process and leave you more time to build, eat, treats your needs, or advance in the research table, which by the way is absolutely essential.
- Which leads me to my next step. Put one of everything I find into the research table. The more recipes you have the better. so what if you can't make it right then, you can at any point in the future.
- Either crafting a scarecrow or placing the crop pots under shelter seem to do the trick at keeping the seagulls away.
- Constantly trying to upgrade, the faster you have a better water purifier or grill, the better water/food you can craft and the better off you are.
- Not be as scared to waste resources. There's an infinite supply of resources that as long as I have food and water I'm fine. I was so scared to run out that I didn't do or build as much as I could've.
2. The best tool for survival is honestly any version of the hook. The game is basically unplayable without it.
3. My raft:
I think the best feature thus far is the fact I'm able to use the higher layers to access higher levels of islands. That's really helpful :)
